On the afternoon of April 26th, the launching ceremony of the new book “Xiang Xiang and Us” and the inauguration ceremony of the “Panda Publishing Center” were held in Panda Bookstore in Chengdu. The “Panda Publishing Center” under Sichuan People’s Publishing House was officially established. The event was full of Xiang Xiang elements.
As soon as we arrived at the Panda Bookstore, we were surrounded by a pink atmosphere. In the middle of the bookstore was the super star of the day, Princess Xiang Xian and her favorite red apple. On the sign-in desk, there were exclusive seals specially designed for Xiang Xiang provided to the participants to collect.
The Sichuan People’s Publishing House has long been concerned about the culture of pandas, planning and publishing a series of panda books, including giant pandas “Hua Hua”, “Meng Lan” and “Xiang Xiang”. During the event, the Publishing House was awarded by Xinhua Wenxuan Publishing and Media Co., Ltd. to formally set up the “Panda Publishing Center”. The publishing center will be committed to the integration of panda publishing resources, and continue to launch high-quality panda books, bringing panda culture and creativity into full play.
At the event, He Jian, the author of the book, Zhou Mengqi, the photographer, and Zhao Lanlan, Xiang Xiang’s keeper after her return to China, came to the scene and exchanged ideas with the readers. The gift given to the guests at the event was a doll duplicated of Xiang Xiang. At the end of the event, the publisher said it had already sent 500 copies to Japan, so fans in Japan will also receive them soon.
