The WeChat official account of Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently released an article to introduce the eight top celebrity giant pandas in Sichuan, in which Xiang Xiang is listed.
According to the article, Xiang Xiang, who was born like a princess with a pair of standard Mickey ears, quickly dominated the headlines and captured the hearts of the Japanese public.
On February 21, 2023, Xiang Xiang ended its five-year stay in Japan and departed from the Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, Japan, to return to its hometown.
Xiang Xiang’s keeper ‘nanny’ Zhao Lanlan said, “The longer Xiang Xiang has stayed in the hometown, the more relaxed she has become, as she gets familiar with the environment. Besides routine patrol, she can also make thoughtful poses, convenient for fans to take pictures of her. She is really elegant.”
